A Few Days in South Central

April 3, 2013

Greetings from Awassa, Ethiopia! Our team has been here since Tuesday and as usual, we’ve had all kinds of experiences. Surprises, delays, encouraging testimonies and stories, growth in our partners and challenges to carrying out the initiatives that have been started. We heard from a large group of church planters yesterday about the blessing of sharing the love and truth of Christ with their neighbors in various villages throughout West Arsi and Bale.

We also visited two Self Help Groups in Shashamene.  One named themselves ‘We are Pleased’ and the other ‘El Shaddai’. They were comprised of Muslims, Orthodox, and Evangelical Christians. When asked if they would associate with one another before joining the SHG, they assertively said ‘no!’. But now they love one another and care deeply for each other. What an amazing blessing to hear!

Today we meet with leaders of three different sectors to discuss investing in up to 3 water drilling sites. We are excited to move forward with these projects after all we learned in the Kalo well.

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers
